CARING FOR YOUR UNDERWEAR
Underwear is the most worn item but sadly, it is the most
underrated. There are men who haven’t changed their underwear in the past five
year. There’s no way you’ll wear a great
outfit on the outside and feel confident while wearing shabby underwear. The
discomfort around your legs will definitely kill your vibe. In this article, we’ll
discuss how you can properly care for your underwear. But before we go into
that, bear this rule in mind; men should
replace their underwear at least once a year. Start by disposing of all the
faded, jaded and saggy underwear in your wardrobe. Any underwear that has
visible holes and/or stains has got to go. When the band loses elasticity,
dispose the underwear. When it no longer fits due to weight loss or gain, don’t
hold on to the hope that you will return to your original body shape, throw it
away.
Having said that, let’s
talk about maintaining your underwear.
*Before laundry, check out the label of your underwear and
set your washing machine to the attached instructions. Then, turn them inside
out (it helps reduce wear and tear, and makes for a more thorough cleaning) and
wash separately on the delicate cycle.
*Just air dry! Throwing your underwear into the dryer can
break down fabrics and destroy elasticity.
*Do not dry in direct sunlight. This can weaken fabrics and
fade colours. Instead of direct sunlight, air dry your underwear in the shade,
where they are exposed to fresh air but not the harsh sunlight.
*Don’t forget to regularly care for your underwear by
trimming loose threads and removing pills to keep them lasting longer.
*If you gym, set aside some underwear for this purpose since
your underwear gets the brunt of your sweat during your work out and besides, you
shouldn’t be working out in your top-shelf underwear.
*Sweaty underwear is not attractive or comfortable. Don’t
even think about smelling them to check if they stink. Practice good hygiene
and wash your underpants after each wear.
*Buying quality underwear is also a smart move. This way, you
are sure they’ll last
